Frequently Asked Questions

This page answers the most common queries from travellers booking through this service. Specific terms vary by supplier; always check your voucher for details.

How does the booking process work?

You search availability, select a vehicle, and confirm the reservation online. An advance payment is processed by card to secure the booking. The remaining balance - if any - is settled at the supplier's desk when you collect the keys. Full payment breakdown and collection instructions appear in the voucher sent to your email within minutes.

What should I bring to the pickup desk?

Bring your printed or digital voucher, a valid driving licence held for the minimum period stated on the booking, passport or national ID, and the credit card used for the advance payment. Some suppliers request a paper licence counterpart if you hold a UK licence issued before 2015. Check your voucher's 'Driver requirements' section to avoid delays.

Can I modify or cancel my reservation?

Changes depend on the rate and supplier. Most bookings allow amendments up to 24 hours before pickup; contact us by email at [email protected] with your booking reference. Cancellation policies range from free cancellation windows to non-refundable rates. The voucher states your specific terms - read the 'Amendments' clause before you need to act.

What are the age and licence requirements?

Minimum age is typically 21, though certain vehicle categories require drivers aged 25 or older. You must hold a full driving licence for at least one year - sometimes two for larger or premium models. Non-EU licences may need an International Driving Permit alongside the original document. Exact thresholds appear in the voucher and during the online quote.

What fuel policy applies?

Most suppliers operate full-to-full: the tank is full at pickup and you return it full. A few locations use prepaid fuel, where you buy a full tank upfront and return the vehicle empty. Check the voucher. Petrol stations - Cepsa, Repsol, Disa - are plentiful along TF-1 and TF-5, though stations thin out on higher mountain roads like TF-21 toward Teide.

Is insurance included in the booking?

The advance payment covers third-party liability, which is compulsory in Spain. Additional collision damage waiver and theft protection depend on the rate you select. Some packages include comprehensive coverage; others offer basic insurance with an excess. The voucher lists every protection element - read the 'Coverage' panel carefully before departure.

Can I drive to other Canary Islands or take a ferry?

Driving to another island means using a ferry - the main route runs Tenerife to La Gomera. Most rental agreements restrict inter-island travel unless you purchase a special waiver at the desk. Taking the vehicle on a ferry without approval usually voids coverage. If you plan island-hopping, mention it when you book so the correct terms are confirmed in advance.

What happens if I return the vehicle late?

Grace periods vary - commonly one hour - after which suppliers charge an extra day or an hourly penalty. If you foresee a delay, call the contact number on the voucher as soon as possible; many suppliers accommodate short extensions if the vehicle is not pre-booked for another client. Unannounced late returns can incur fees and complicate the check-in process.

Where can I collect and drop off the vehicle?

Pickup points include Tenerife South Airport (TFS) on the TF-1 motorway, Tenerife North Airport (TFN) near La Laguna, and resort desks in Costa Adeje, Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos, Puerto de la Cruz, Santa Cruz, and other towns. Drop-off usually happens at the same location unless you select a one-way rental. Exact desk addresses and opening hours are printed on your voucher.
